To Members of the Albany-Schenectady Chapter of ADK – A great thank you to David Gibson from Adirondack Wild for presenting on the many efforts of his and similar organizations to keep the Adirondacks wild. And for sharing with us what it takes to do so, not least the heroic efforts and perseverance of people like Paul Schaefer.

The next chapter meeting is on May 12 with a program by David Kramer from DEC about “Snapshot NY,” a citizen science program to monitor wildlife via trail cameras

  • Chapter Picnic at Peebles Island State Park. June 9, 2026, 4-8 pm.
    Come and join us for socializing and dinner, hike or paddle around the island or ride your bike along the Old Champlain Canal. The hike will start at 4 pm from the pavilion, the paddle will start at 4:30 pm from the Waterford boat launch. Details for the bike ride will be provided at a later time. There will also be yard games available.
