Click the link below to take a survey presented by students of Skidmore College looking to understand public use and opinions related to use in the Adirondack High Peaks.

From the survey:

The Adirondack High Peaks Wilderness Complex is home to the tallest peaks in New York, and some of the most popular hiking trails in the state. This region is visited by millions of people every year who use the mountains for outdoor recreation. The High Peaks Wilderness Complex is designated by the state as “Wilderness Land”, which means it will be “protected and managed so as to preserve, enhance and restore, where necessary, its natural conditions.”

The purpose of this research is to gauge public perception regarding various management techniques in the High Peaks Wilderness Complex. This research is part of a senior Capstone course in the Environmental Studies Program at Skidmore College.
